Restructure keeps Queensland Rail on track
CompAssess Brisbane has helped a key division of Queensland
Rail to successfully restructure its management team. The
project involved designing new management positions and implementing
an assessment process to identify the team’s capability
against the new structure.
By implementing a robust and objective assessment process
Queensland Rail has been able to place individuals into roles
that best utilise their strengths. The assessment results
have also provided team members with valuable information
to drive their ongoing professional development.

Leadership development program gives NAB the technical
edge
CompAssess has helped the Technology Division of National
Australia Bank (NAB Technology) to implement a comprehensive
assessment and development program for its technology leaders.
The project involved the design and delivery of an online
360 degree survey for 230 technology managers. Over 2,500
respondents completed the survey including their managers,
direct reports, peers and internal customers.
To support the effective translation of the 360 results into
actionable development plans, CompAssess also delivered a
3 module training program to over 60 senior technology executives.
This covered interpretation of the 360s, development fundamentals,
and coaching skills. This enabled the senior executives to
work with the technology managers on their individual development
plans using the results of the 360 survey.
CompAssess also helped NAB develop a comprehensive Development
Planning Kit to help the technology managers and senior executives
implement self directed, on-the-job and external development
activities.

Tasmania leads public sector in developing recruitment
skills
CompAssess is working with the Department of Infrastructure,
Energy and Resources (DIER) to design and deliver a Selection
Skills workshop specifically designed for the public sector.
The workshop focuses on equipping public sector managers
with the skills to identify the critical success factors and
motivational drivers that underpin a role, and then conduct
effective behavioural interviews to recruit candidates with
the best fit to the role.
The workshop also helps public sector managers to more effectively
sell the benefits of working with the public sector to prospective
candidates.
